SAFETY

 

A.   No child shall ever be left alone or unsupervised.  The teacher is aware of each child’s presence in the school.

 

B.    During school hours, entrance to the building is limited to the front door of the building.

 

C.   No child should be left unattended in an automobile while preschoolers are being delivered to or picked up from school.

 

D.   Access to a working telephone is available at the front desk.

 

E.    Each child’s file must be complete and contain all current emergency numbers and parent work numbers.

 

F.    When an accident or injury occurs, the school will complete an incident report.  The report will be placed in the child’s file and a second copy will be sent home.

 

G.   Fire drills will be held each month.  An Emergency Fire Evacuation Plan is posted in each classroom stating the action to be taken.

 

H.   Field trip safety:  Written permission for field trips by vehicle transportation will be needed by parents for each child prior to trip.  The slip will contain child’s name, the destination, date of trip, time of departure and return and parents signature.

 

EMERGENCY PROCEDURE

 

BASED ON THE SEVERITY OF THE PROBLEM, THE FOLLOWING STEPS WILL BE FOLLOWED:

 

1.     Notify parents.  If they are not available, we will notify the emergency contact person on the child’s enrollment form.

2.     Call 911 Lebanon Emergency Service.

3.     Take the child to the hospital, an adult from the day care will accompany the child.
